People and Purpose

We aim to provide excellence in care and accommodation within a happy environment. We offer care in a manner that promotes and encourages independence. Our dedicated team of experienced carers support the residents, respecting their privacy, dignity and freedom of choice.

Job’s Close was founded by local people for the care of the elderly in 1957. It was originally run by a voluntary committee on a non-profit making basis, and was a member of Solihull Old People’s Welfare Association.

The charity became incorporated in 2003, Registered Co. in England & Wales : 4741522, and is a member of the “Solihull Not-for-Profit Group”.

The Registered Manager is Mrs. Eileen Carlton who holds a Registered Manager in Care qualification.
The Registered Provider and Company Secretary is Mr. John Stevens.
Both have been approved by CSCI.

The Trustee Directors, like the original volunteers, are all local residents of Knowle and Dorridge. They give their time freely to benefit the running of the Home, and there is a good skill mix within the board membership from medical, financial, legal, property and administrative backgrounds.

In addition, “The Friends of Job’s Close”, also volunteers, organise various activities to benefit the residents, including outside excursions.

All faiths can be provided for and we have a monthly Communion Service.

The Home is attended regularly by our local GP, and referrals made as necessary for physiotherapy, chiropody, dentistry and outpatient care.
